Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Cold Foam

The pumpkin spice cold foam is called pumpkin cream cold foam at Starbucks and it can be added to any cold drink. On the official menu, the pumpkin cream cold foam is added to the Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew.

There are 4 cold foams at Starbucks at the time of this writing. All cold foams are made in a special blender with a circular disc.

  1. Cold foam
Nonfat milk is blended until frothy and smooth. There’s no cream in regular cold foam.
  2. Vanilla sweet cream cold foam
Cream, milk, and vanilla syrup are blended together.
  3. Salted caramel cream cold foam
Cream, milk, and vanilla syrup are blended with caramel syrup.
  4. Pumpkin cream cold foam (seasonal)
Cream, milk, and vanilla syrup are blended with pumpkin spice sauce.

Cold foam can be customized with syrups or matcha to create flavored cold foam that’s not offered on menu like mocha cold foam (Cookies and Cream Cold Brew) and matcha cold foam (TikTok Matcha Pink Drink).

To order customized cold foam at Starbucks, you need to order in person since it’s not available on the app. Ask for cold foam made with 2 pumps of syrup blended in.

Ingredient Notes

Pumpkin Spice Cold Foam ingredients.
  • Half & half
Instead of using cream and milk separately to make cold foam, half & half is used as a shortcut. Half & half is half cream and half milk.
  • Vanilla syrup
This is to flavor and sweeten the cold foam. Use store-bought or homemade vanilla syrup.
  • Pumpkin spice sauce
Also known as pumpkin sauce or pumpkin pie sauce, this is what gives the cold foam flavors of pumpkin spice. You can also use pumpkin spice syrup.

Serving Suggestions

Pumpkin spice cold foam can be added to any iced coffee drink instead of milk or creamer.

Try it with cold brew, Iced Americano, Iced Latte, or iced tea lattes like Iced Chai Latte, or Iced Matcha Latte.

Expert Tips

  • The key to cold foam is in creating tiny bubbles in the milk and cream. The more uniform, tiny bubbles you can create by adding air into the milk and cream, the more velvety the cold foam texture will be.
  • If you want to use cream and milk instead of the half & half shortcut, use ¼ cup heavy cream, 2 tablespoons 2% milk, 1 tablespoons vanilla syrup, and 1 tablespoon pumpkin spice sauce or syrup.
  • Add pumpkin spice topping on top of the pumpkin spice cold foam to garnish and add a dusting of the pumpkin spice flavors.
  • A handheld milk frother can also be used to make cold foam but the French press does a better job of creating velvety froth.
  • The cold foam will nearly double in size so don’t overfill the French press.
  • Don’t underfill the French press since you want to make sure the French press filter is touching the half & half.
  • Any leftover cold foam can be stored in the fridge for a couple of days. It’s best to make it and serve it immediately for best results.
