Starbucks New Drink

There’s a new Starbucks drink to welcome the start of spring. It’s the Iced Toasted Vanilla Oatmilk Shaken Espresso and it’s a permanent menu item.

What’s in the drink?

Blonde espresso, toasted vanilla syrup (a new syrup), oatmilk, and ice are hand-shaken to create this cold drink.

What does toasted vanilla taste like?

It seems to be a love/hate thing. Some are saying it tastes like cough syrup or a scented candle while others think it tastes like marshmallows or vanilla cake. I didn’t like the drink as much as the Iced Brown Sugar Oatmilk Shaken Espresso.

What sizes are available?

You can get this in a tall, grande, or venti.

How many shots of blonde espresso are in the drink?

A tall has 2 blonde espresso shots, grande has 3, and venti has 4.

How many pumps of toasted vanilla syrup are in the drink?

A tall drink size has 3 pumps of toasted vanilla syrup, grande has 4, and venti has 6.

Tips on Ordering This Drink

  • Top an iced drink with toasted vanilla cold foam by asking for a couple of pumps of toasted vanilla syrup blended into sweet vanilla cream cold foam. You can only order this in person, not on the app.
  • You can add pumps of toasted vanilla syrup to any drink, hot or iced. For example, you can ask for a toasted vanilla cold brew or a toasted vanilla latte.
  • Try toasted vanilla syrups in drinks that already have a bit of vanilla by adding a couple of pumps of the syrup in an Iced London Fog or a Chai Latte.
  • There isn’t a Toasted Vanilla Frappuccino on the official menu but you can ask for a creme (no caffeine) or coffee based Frappuccino to be made with toasted vanilla syrup. Some are saying it tastes like birthday cake.

Seasonal Drinks No Longer Available

With the introduction of this new shaken espresso drink, Starbucks has taken seasonal winter drinks (and syrups) off the menu.

Say goodbye, for now, to:

  • Toasted White Mocha
  • Irish Cream
  • Sugar Cookie
  • Caramel Brulee
  • Pumpkin Spice
