INGREDIENTS

  • cup milk (any kind)
  • cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Put milk and sweetened condensed milk in a saucepan and let it come to a simmer.
    Stir to mix well.
  • Take off heat and add vanilla extract.
Once the sweetened milk comes to a simmer, take off heat.
  • Pour creamer into an airtight container.
The creamer will keep for up to 7 days in the refrigerator.

NOTES

  • Use high quality vanilla extract to create a rich and flavorful vanilla creamer.
  • Recipe makes a cup of French vanilla creamer. Add 1-2 tablespoons to your coffee. No need to add any sugar or milk since the creamer is both in one.
  • Madagascar Bourbon vanilla is the extract that's most commonly found in supermarkets and it has a sweet, mellow taste. It's the one used in the recipe but you can use any kind of vanilla extract from Mexican vanilla (sweet taste with a little spice) to Tahitian (fruity and floral taste).
  • Use it to make hot chocolate by stirring this creamer and cocoa powder in hot milk. Add it to Earl Grey tea instead of sugar and milk.
  • Vanilla bean, vanilla paste, or vanilla powder can be used in place of vanilla extract but extract is the easiest to use. The recipe uses 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract so instead of the extract, use 1 tablespoon of vanilla paste or powder. To use vanilla bean, use 1 whole vanilla bean.
