INGREDIENTS

Snickerdoodle Hot Chocolate

Whipped Cream Topping

  • cup heavy cream
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon cinnamon sugar (⅛ teaspoon cinnamon + ⅛ teaspoon sugar)

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Make whipped cream topping.
Heavy cream and sugar are whipped together using a handheld milk frother. Fluffy whipped cream is made in seconds.
  • Combine milk, white chocolate chips, and cinnamon syrup in a saucepan and stir on low heat.
Use the handheld milk frother to help mix the chocolate and milk together.
  • Assemble drink.
Pour snickerdoodle hot chocolate into a mug. Spoon on whipped cream and garnish with cinnamon sugar.

NOTES

  • Any kind of milk can be used but it’s a lot creamier with whole milk.
  • Homemade cinnamon syrup can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator. Once the syrups are made, it’s just a matter of heating up and combining the milk, white chocolate chips, and the syrup.
  • The whipped cream can be made as stiff or soft as you like by adjusting the time you whisk. If you want a more pourable whipped cream with soft peaks that will stir into the drink easier, whisk until it thickens slightly. Whisk it for a little longer for stiffer peaks. Make sure to move the handheld milk frother up and down to get air into the cream.
  • Whipped cream can be made ahead and stored in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to 2 days. Stir it a little since it may have deflated a bit.
  • Good white chocolate is made from cocoa butter, which is off white, and slightly yellow in color. If your white chocolate is pure white, additional ingredients like artificial color or vegetable oil, may have been added.
