Hello!

I’m Jee, the coffee specialist and recipe developer behind this site dedicated to all things coffee.

A former barista and certified in Coffee Skills from the SCA (Specialty Coffee Association), I share with you my coffee knowledge gathered from years of training and experience.

Whether it’s Starbucks copycat recipes or how to make cold brew at home, I create step-by-step tested recipes.

My goal is to make coffee easy and delicious.

About Me

I was born in Seoul, South Korea and raised in Brooklyn, NY. I currently live in New York.

My background is in digital design and I have a masters in Design Management. I mostly worked in publishing, for online magazines like People.com and InStyle.com.

I always wanted to learn how to properly make coffee and tea, so when a friend opened up a cafe in Manhattan years ago, I asked to work part-time as a barista.

I was trained on how to make espresso and espresso drinks like lattes. The cafe specialized in tea, so I also learned how to make matcha lattes.

When I left full-time corporate for freelance design, I had a flexible schedule that I took full advantage of by getting certified in Coffee Skills at the SCA. It’s where I honed my barista and sensory skills and learned different brewing methods.

In 2012, I started my tea blog, Oh, How Civilized. (I’m a certified Tea Sommelier.)

In 2020, I started this coffee blog, Coffee at Three, with the name being a play on the phrase ‘tea at three.’

My go-to morning coffee is an Iced Caramel Macchiato that I make at home and my usual order at Starbucks is an Iced Brown Sugar Oatmilk Shaken Espresso.

At coffee shops that aren’t Starbucks, I always get either a cortado or an Iced Americano.

I consider my daily coffee an everyday luxury.
