Starbucks Secret Menu

First thing to know about the Starbucks secret menu is that there is no official Starbucks secret menu. The secret menu items are drinks customers and baristas have created on their own by modifying the regular menu. The drinks are off-the-menu, meaning Starbucks baristas aren’t trained to learn how to make them.

There are over 58,000 possible drink combinations that can be made using the ingredients available at Starbucks. If you’re tired of the same latte or cappuccino, order something new by ordering from the Starbucks secret menu.

How To Order From the Starbucks Secret Menu

Since Starbucks baristas aren’t trained in making secret menu items, you MUST give them the recipe instead of the name of the drink. Here’s the best way to order:

  1. Size (short, tall, grande, venti, trenta)
This will also help the barista determine which cup to use, which they need to write all the drink modifications on. See Starbucks drink sizes here.
  2. Base drink
This is a drink that is on the regular menu that’ll get customized.
  3. Substitutions
Here is where you make any substitutions like using milk instead of water.
  4. Additions and toppings
Any add-ons like extra hot, add whipped cream, and caramel drizzle come last.

Questions You May Have

How do you ask for the Starbucks secret menu?

For the most part, all secret menu options are custom creations, often popularized via social media. They’re not official Starbucks drinks, so you’ll have to specify exactly what goes into the drink versus ordering it by name (although some drinks, like the Pink Drink, went from being a popular Instagram drink to officially being introduced to the menu).

Is the Starbucks secret menu real?

Yes and no. There’s no one official menu, but if you search hashtags like #starbuckssecretmenu you’ll find thousands of new drink modifications and riffs on menu classics.

Where is the secret menu on the Starbucks app?

Although there’s no “secret menu” option, the Starbucks app does make it easy to order from the secret menu. You can specify all the modifications you’d like for your drink easily without reading off a long list to your barista.

Are there new drinks added to the secret menu?

Yes! Starbucks customers are coming up with new modifications and fun combinations everyday! You can even come up with your own custom creation and post it on social media — you never know if it’ll catch on and maybe even become an official Starbucks drink!
