Caramel Cold Foam at Starbucks

Salted caramel cold foam can be found on the Starbucks standard menu since it’s a part of the Salted Caramel Cream Cold Brew but caramel cold foam isn’t on the menu at all.

Even though it’s not on the menu, caramel cold foam can be ordered as a customized drink topping at Starbucks making it a part of the secret menu.

Any cold foam can be customized with syrups or matcha to create flavored cold foam like chocolate cold foam.

Caramel cold foam can only be ordered in person and can’t be ordered on the app.

Ingredient Notes

Caramel cold foam ingredients in measuring cups.
  • Heavy cream: Combining heavy cream with milk gives cold foam the right consistency to float on an iced drink.
  • 2% Milk: The milk thins out the heavy cream because cold foam is thinner than whipped cream and thicker than milk alone.
  • Caramel sauce: To flavor and sweeten the cold foam. Use store-bought caramel sauce, it’s easier than making it at home.

Expert Tips

  • Making the perfect cold foam is all about the bubbles you create when foaming the ingredients. The more uniform and tiny bubbles you can create in your foam, the more velvety the cold foam texture will be.
  • 1/3 cup of half & half can replace with heavy cream and milk in the recipe if you want a lighter version of the cold foam.
  • A handheld milk frother can also make cold foam, but a French press does a better job of creating foam.
  • When frothing the ingredients, cold foam will increase in volume, so be careful not to fill the French press more than halfway.
  • Don’t underfill the French press or it won’t foam up. The French press filter must touch the liquid.
  • Cold foam can be stored in the fridge for 2 days. It’s best to make it and serve immediately.
  • Caramel cold foam can be added to any iced coffee drink, replacing milk and sweeteners.
  • Try cold foam with any iced drink that pairs well with caramel, like cold brew, Iced Americano, and Iced Latte.
