Sweetened cinnamon and white chocolate makes this snickerdoodle hot chocolate a perfect cozy cold weather drink. It’s made in 5 minutes with just 6 ingredients (which includes the homemade whipped cream).

Recipe Highlights
- Snickerdoodle is a sugar cookie with cinnamon and sugar. The sweetened cinnamon flavors from the cookie make up this snickerdoodle hot chocolate.
- It’s a quick and easy recipe made with just 6 ingredients. Milk, white chocolate chips, and cinnamon syrup make up the snickerdoodle hot chocolate. The heavy cream, and sugar are whisked together for the homemade whipped cream topping. Top it all off with a little cinnamon sugar.
- Store-bought or homemade cinnamon syrup can be used. I recommend using homemade cinnamon syrup since it’s really easy to make.
- Starbucks has a snickerdoodle hot chocolate on their menu but it’s not available all year. You can order it even if it’s not available by asking for a white hot chocolate with 2 pumps of Cinnamon Dolce syrup and 2 pumps of White Chocolate Mocha sauce.

Ingredient Notes

- Cinnamon syrup: Use store-bought or homemade cinnamon syrup. The homemade version only has 3 ingredients and it’s super easy to make.
- White chocolate chips: This is the chocolate base for the drink and it goes really well with cinnamon syrup. You’ll notice that white chocolate is slightly yellow once it’s made into hot chocolate. This is perfectly natural as the yellowish color comes from the cocoa butter.
- Milk: Any kind of milk can be used but it’s a lot creamier with whole milk.
- Heavy cream: This is for the whipped cream topping.
- Sugar: To sweeten the whipped cream.
- Cinnamon sugar: This is completely optional but you can garnish your drink with a sprinkling of cinnamon and sugar.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Make whipped cream topping. Heavy cream and sugar are whipped together using a handheld milk frother.
Fluffy whipped cream is made in seconds.

Step 2: Combine milk, white chocolate chips, and cinnamon syrup in a saucepan and stir on low heat. Use the handheld milk frother to help mix the chocolate and milk together.

Step 3: Assemble drink. Pour snickerdoodle hot chocolate into a mug. Spoon on whipped cream and garnish with cinnamon sugar.
Expert Tips
- Homemade cinnamon syrup can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator. Once the syrups are made, it’s just a matter of heating up and combining the milk, white chocolate chips, and the syrup.
- The whipped cream can be made as stiff or soft as you like by adjusting the time you whisk. If you want a more pourable whipped cream with soft peaks that will stir into the drink easier, whisk until it thickens slightly. Whisk it for a little longer for stiffer peaks. Make sure to move the handheld milk frother up and down to get air into the cream.
- Whipped cream can be made ahead and stored in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to 2 days. Stir it a little since it may have deflated a bit.
