Ingredient Notes
- Espresso: You can use any dark or espresso roast coffee to make espresso for this drink. Starbucks sells their own branded capsules for Nespresso machines.
- White chocolate sauce: This is the sauce that turns a latte into a white chocolate mocha. The white chocolate sauce sweetens and flavors the drink.
- 2% milk: You can use any milk you like but Starbucks uses 2% milk in this drink.
- Heavy cream: This is for the whipped cream topping.
- Vanilla syrup: Use homemade vanilla syrup or store-bought. This is used to flavor the heavy cream to make the vanilla whipped cream.
- Ice: Use filtered water to make ice if possible.

Nespresso Notes
All mocha drinks are made with espresso. The easiest way to make espresso at home is with a Nespresso machine.
1 shot of espresso = 1 Nespresso espresso capsule
In this grande sized drink, there are 2 shots of espresso, which means you’ll need 2 Nespresso espresso capsules or 1 double espresso capsule.
You can use any of your favorite Nespresso espresso capsules or Starbucks for Nespresso capsules.
Starbucks and Nespresso partnered to create a Starbucks line of capsules and there are 3 espresso capsules: Starbucks Espresso Roast, Decaf Espresso Roast, or Blonde Espresso Roast.
Expert Tips
- Instant coffee can be used if you don’t have espresso. Combine 1 tablespoon of instant coffee and ¼ cup hot water to replace the 2 shots of espresso in the recipe.
- If you don’t have white chocolate sauce, replace it with sweetened condensed milk.
- The whipped cream is flavored with vanilla but if you don’t have vanilla syrup, you can sweeten the heavy cream with 2 teaspoons of sugar.

Almost identical to Starbucks! I used Torani white chocolate sauce and it was great! I just wish I had taken the “shake ten times” more seriously because the first one exploded all over my kitchen from the pressure in the shaker😅 SHAKE ONLY TEN TIMES, NOT A SUGGESTION!
Very good. My daughter and I had two for Mother’s Day
Oh it’s on! I haven’t bought the ingredients yet but my checking account thanks you!
